The Bancroft Family Foundation is a privately funded Foundation established by the Bancroft Family in Rhode Island in the year 2000. The Foundation is primarily committed to charitable activities that increase opportunities for the poor, disenfranchised and/or disabled and to support projects that assist them.  The Foundation also considers other funding requests that are intended to provide immediate benefit to individuals and/or groups for the purpose of education, health care or social services.

There is no fixed minimum or maximum size request; however, the Foundation's recent grants have been up to $15,000.00 for a single year of funding. Multiple year grants will be considered. All applications submitted must be accompanied by a brief, clear, concise statement as to the financial need and the eligibility of the organization pursuant to Internal Revenue Code 501(C)(3).

Letters or emails of acknowledgement will be sent to all applicants upon receipt of their request. The Foundation board members will then review and verify all requests recieved. Upon completion of this review and the Foundation board member's vote, final notification of the decision will be forwarded to the applicant.

Thank you.

** It is with a heavy heart that we would like to inform our applicants and the organizations we support of the loss of our family member and Bancroft Family Foundation board member, Carol Verrochi on June 29, 2023. Carol worked closely with many and we appreciate her dedication to the Bancroft Family Foundation and to her family. We will miss her dearly.**
